What does it cost to book a voice actor?
For a commercial recording, the fee depends on the project type and its distribution. Within our network of 94 professional voices, we use a clear structure to avoid misunderstandings.
For non-commercial work, such as an internal corporate video or e-learning, we charge per word or via a fixed project rate.
Is it for a commercial spot for radio, television, or online media? Then the structure consists of two parts:
- The basic fee for studio time and recording the text itself.
- The buy-out, a fee for usage rights determined by the medium, reach, and period during which the recording will be heard.
How do you direct a voice during a recording session?
Directing someone requires clear instructions that focus on emotion and pace, rather than individual words.
Directing tip from our studio: don't just ask the voice actor to sound "happier". Instead, instruct them to physically smile during the first three words. A smile immediately and naturally changes the mouth's position and the vocal timbre, without the intonation sounding artificial or exaggerated.
What should you look for when receiving audio files?
Once a recording is ready, you want to be able to integrate the audio directly into your edit or system. You recognise well-finished work by the technical quality of the file:
- No distractions like background noise or mouth clicks.
- The correct speed, adjusted to the visuals or the available time.
- Delivered in a clean file format such as WAV or high-quality MP3.
